Yoanna Dzhokanova is a psychologist with clinical and social experience working with children and adults in vulnerable situations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New Bulgarian University, where she also completed a second specialization in Speech and Language Therapy. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology – Psychoanalytic Perspective.
Her professional experience includes working as part of multidisciplinary teams in healthcare and social service settings, with a focus on mental health disorders, chronic physical illnesses, addictions, and emotional difficulties.
Part of her professional practice is connected to her work with the Podari Vreme Foundation, where she supports children and young people deprived of parental care through mentoring and emotional support, helping them develop coping skills and social adaptation abilities. She also organizes training sessions and volunteer groups to strengthen support for children and young people in care.
Within the Secretariat of the National Network for Children, Yoanna serves as Partnership Development Coordinator. She is responsible for relations with corporate partners and for the development of the Child-Friendly Company certification programme.
