George Bogdanov

George Bogdanov holds a Master’s degree in European Social Policy and Social Work from New Bulgarian University, where his thesis focused on good governance practices. He also holds a PhD from the Faculty of History at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

He has extensive experience in project management and research in the social sector. Throughout his career, he has worked on numerous projects related to deinstitutionalization, the development of social services, and anti-discrimination policies for children and vulnerable groups. George has significant experience working with local communities, non-governmental organizations, the Roma community in Bulgaria, and marginalized groups through community development approaches.

He has worked with Charity Know How (United Kingdom), UNICEF, the World Bank, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, as well as many other international and national organizations.

As a national expert, he is a member of two European Union networks funded by the European Commission. One of these networks focuses on anti-discrimination policies, while the other brings together experts in social inclusion.

Since 2011, George has been a member of the Management Board of Eurochild, the European network promoting children’s rights and well-being. Since April 2017, he has served as President of ChildPact, the regional coalition for child protection.
