The mission of Foundation “Workshop for Civic Initiatives” (FWCI) is to support active citizens, community leaders, civic groups, and non-governmental organizations in working more effectively for their causes, target groups, and communities, while also promoting philanthropy and giving practices in Bulgaria.

FWCI encourages communities to take responsibility for their own development and to actively contribute to social progress by making the best use of local resources. These communities may be geographical, professional, or interest-based. The Foundation works with all of them to foster local development and strengthen philanthropic practices by providing diverse opportunities and mechanisms for civic engagement and giving, with the support of businesses, organizations, and individual donors.
